Empowering Communities Through Technology and Fair Practices – ICITIC is proud to announce the launch of our Community Empowerment Initiative, a comprehensive outreach program designed to uplift and empower local communities. Our initiative is focused on nurturing local talent, fostering technological growth, and ensuring fair wage practices in the ICT sector.
LBD Directive 1: Cultivating Local ICT Excellence – Our first directive under this initiative emphasizes the creation of local ICT products to maintain a competitive edge in the industry. We are committed to:
- Developing innovative local ICT products and solutions.
- Ensuring a competitive environment that stands strong against multinational corporations (MNCs).
- Upholding the highest standards of business honesty and integrity.
LBD Directive 2: Advancing Local Talent and Ownership – The second directive of our initiative focuses on delivering tangible outcomes in terms of local content and employment. Key components include:
- Achieving targets for local content creation and local employment in the ICT sector.
- Providing extensive training opportunities to enhance the ICT knowledge of our employees and ensuring their certification.
- Maintaining a high standard of local ownership, ranging between 80% to 100%.
Commitment to Reasonable Wage – In line with the Labour Department’s announcement in July 2023, ICITIC fully supports and implements the Minimum Wage Policy. This policy is a stride toward fairness and socioeconomic growth, and it encompasses:
- A minimum salary of $500 per month for full-time workers in the banking, finance, and ICT sectors.
- A minimum hourly wage of $2.62 for part-time workers in these sectors.
- An emphasis on fair compensation before any retirement contributions.
- A transitional period for employers to update contracts to reflect the new minimum wage rates.
